Graphic design is a field with a long tradition that has gone through huge developments over the past decades. The focus of the programme is the graphic display of information.
The translation of a message to a creatively designed text and/or image was initially made using printed media such as books, posters and magazines. Later, technological developments gave rise to new media such as TV and film, which were followed by the Internet and mobile phones. This meant an expansion and refinement of the field of graphic design. The possibilities for transforming artistic ideas into a visual shape have only increased with technological progress. As a result, communication can now take place in a dynamic visual and interactive manner and imagery is playing an increasingly important role.
At ArtEZ, we train graphic designers who can formulate answers to modern-day design problems in a meaningful, individual way. The Graphic Design programme is offered in two locations: Arnhem and Zwolle. In addition to the full-time programme, Arnhem also offers a part-time Graphic Design programme. After completing the Bachelor of Design, students can specialise further in the Master of Typography programme.
