Academy of Pop Music
In this age of globalisation and digitisation, music is increasingly becoming a commodity and artists are seen more and more as brands. The youngest generation of pop musicians is taking full advantage of the large selection of open sources and social media to bring their work and talent to the attention of a broad audience. Today’s ‘Do it Together’ musicians are for a large part responsible for their own success, partially due to the diminishing role of record companies. ArtEZ offers full support in this process: from mastering an instrument and technical knowledge and skills to developing a strong entrepreneurial instinct. Further attention is given to band culture, professional skills and theoretical awareness.
The ArtEZ Academy of Pop Music is organised in such a way that students, under the supervision of teachers and project coaches, can familiarise themselves with their future career opportunities at an early stage. One of the ways this is done is through the Production Company, in close cooperation with MediaMusic students.

Entrance criteria
Higher secondary (havo), pre-university (vwo) or intermediate vocational (mbo level 4) diploma or equivalent. The examination committee may deviate from the requirement in special cases.

Honours programme
Two years additional in-depth theoretical training for a select number of students: programme certificate with diploma if completed.
